Can't keep up!

My last most was rather lame considering we where preparing for a trip over to Ethiopia. But in reality I just couldn't keep up with it all! it happened rather fast and unexpected...but very much enjoyed! I have various pictures of certain stages in our trip some of which I can't post because of the privacy of the children in the Orphanage! But it was amazing and grueling all in one swoop! Our trip started out with community visits to the families we sponsor back in Canada. I will say that the experience is like none I have witnessed! Really make you feel selfish and you ponder your " way of life " back home! We handed out many donations and tons of granola bars...they where a huge hit with the locals!:) Also full of protein...even better! I will say the worst part of the whole trip was getting over a 37hr jet lag!!!!YUCK!!!! to say the least! A little Melatonin under the tong and sweet ZZZZZZ here we come!lol After visiting the community we had the opportunity to stay three full days with the children within the Faya Orphanage...this is the amazing part of the trip!!! I mean I am responsible to find sponsors for these children but that's one thing at home...to witness how far God has taken this is truly amazing! The children captured my heart the minute that old metal door flung open! It is a moment I will never forget!!!! We had the chance to play and interact with them for most of the day. We also gathered update about each child for our sponsors back home! It was really hard to be there at time knowing that we are so close in our adoption...I would have taken each and everyone of them if it was legal:) During the end our our stay we managed to get away to the natural hot springs called Sodere ...they are hot!!! YIKES!! And when I say hot I mean like melt your skin...the local all laughed at me and my bright pink skin!lol They found it hard to believe I couldn't even put my toes in !lol The old women where under the natural falls like it was nothing!! Crazy!!! I really recommend going there if you have a chance..it is beautiful to see! They also have a large swimming pool that is much cooler!:) Oh...and watch out for the monkeys!lol At the end of our trip we met up with one of the evangelical pastors in the Addis area, he was wonderful to us!:) He took us to northern Addis up and past the mountains...the landscape is like nothing I have ever seen! Simply wonderful!!! We made some really good contacts with some church leaders and hope to work with them in the future! We are so blessed to have embarked on this trip! We thank God for this awesome experience! Cheers!

These are some random photo's of us in the community!

CBC shame on you!!!

So as the story goes many of you are aware of the distasteful broadcast on CBC The National a couple of evenings ago...regarding families who are somewhat disgruntled about there adoption facilitator. I have one things to say about this. The truth will be brought to light! Well maybe a couple more things. I agree that CBC could have shed more light or even some light on all the positives of adoption through the Ethiopia program. We are just in the waiting process but to anyone who is truly anticipating a referral this sort of thing leave us feeling helpless and was uncalled for and done out of desperation. Anything to feed the monster! As a supporter of FAYA this hits home, I passionately have dedicated my time to raise funds as well as find sponsors for these beautiful children that come into our orphanage, with great hopes that these children may one day find forever families here in Canada. With such selfish act the chances of survival of some of these children went from high to bleak in a matter of minutes through a short segment that could possibly effect us and these children in ways we could have never imagined. On that note I do put my faith upon the Lord and I forgive those who decided to broadcast there hurt on national television, I don't think they truly understand what they have done. My prayers and with them as well as the families who are very close to travel. God will bring light to where it is needed!

Time for anything????

Well this is my sad but needed post! To put it short and simple we have been really really busy! Still waiting for our referral as the adoption world slows down. But with more exciting news we may be going for a trip over to Ethiopia sometime in April! God willing! While we are there we will be stationed at Faya Orphanage doing all we can to get updates and help out where help is needed! We are very excited to have this opportunity and look forward to meeting the wonderful children I have been following for some time now! If anyone is interested in donating items to the orphanage we would love to deliver them! There greatest need as of now is medical gloves, shoes, older children's clothing, medication (tylenol, advil, ect...), indoor games/puzzles. Please let me know if this is something you may be interested in! chantalandreas@fayaorphanage.com

Feeling Blue....

Today and well the last two weeks have been very blue for me...long story short I am not able to home school the girls which devastates me to no end...we had some large personal issues that came up that put an end to that...but I am faith full that God will reveal His will in His own time. We have been trying to pursue putting the girls back into the Christian school they attended 2 years ago...and of course Satan is in there with all his dirty tricks....we are not able to confirm them going to that Christian school for at least another week!!...it is very hard to understand right now and I feel like curly up into a little ball and crying and rather giving up!!! But I know I can't....I just have hard time living with the bad choice of putting our girls back into the Catholic school system...so needless to say we would love your prayers for our family and most of all our little Savannah...this has become very hard and a lot of tears of drop to the floor. Please pray for us!
